The D.Paysage practice was commissioned to design the landscape for the public spaces and gardens for the Chrifia resort development, including the road network, the Place Nord and the Isli garden. The road planting becomes the unifying thread throughout the development, linking the different themed areas. The Place Nord is situated at the northern extremity of the site, at the crossroads of two main roads and plays an emblematic role. It is the showcase of the Chrifia Resort and its design symbolises the view from within the Agdâl gardens in Marrakech, where a series of layers succeed each other: firstly the water reservoir, secondly, a sea of green (the olive and orange groves), then thirdly, the bareness of the Atlas Mountains and finally the deep blue sky. The Isli garden is also inspired by the Dâr Al Hanâ orange grove in Marrakech, reflecting a number of components of these gardens, such as the gentle gradual slope, the peripheral protection, the main axis taking the form of a “seguia” or irrigation canal.
